Allergies, Dust Mites, etc. – Tempur-Pedic® products are 100% CFC-free, contain no latex or rubber, and are resistant to allergens. The naturally treated cotton cover is zippered for easy removal and washing (Classic and Deluxe Mattresses Only). The cover helps eliminate spores, fungi, and dust mites and their allergy-producing excrement. Dust mites have been a common problem with the thick padding that covers traditional innerspring mattresses. You can now avoid inhaling common bedding allergens such as dust mites while you sleep.

Conforming, Personalized Sleeping Experience- What Makes Tempur-Pedic® Different from all other bed types?

• Waveless waterbeds and air beds do not offer pressure to push back on the body—the molecular springs of the Tempur-Pedic® viscoelastic material conform to your unique shape- a mattress that is personalized for your needs and does not require adjustment of any type.
• Conventional mattresses are hard steel springs wrapped in thick padding. This can cause painful pressure points that result in a person looking for the most comfortable position. The automatic self-adjustment of the Tempur-Pedic ® mattress results in consistent sleep quality on any “place” on the Tempur-Pedic ® mattress.
• The standard (non-adjustable) Tempur-Pedic® Swedish Sleep System does not require electricity, have motors to break, and does not leak.

Definition of Tempur-Pedic® Pressure Relieving Material

It is a viscoelastic, temperature sensitive material, quite different from ordinary foam. Viscoelastic describes the property of a substance to both resist flow or change of shape (viscous) and to return to its original shape after being forced to change (elastic).

Different- Why is a Tempur-Pedic® Different than other memory foam or viscoelastic mattresses?

TEMPUR® material is extremely dense--there are simply more cells per square inch than in most viscoelastic foams. Furthermore, the cells themselves are extremely dense and consistently shaped. The greater density allows for greater sensitivity of the material, and is more durable preventing the "bottoming out" that can occur in less dense material.

Hot- Does Tempur-Pedic® Sleep Hot?

No. The cells themselves are open and breathable, so the material is self-ventilating. However, due to the increase in circulation throughout your body, you may discover you need fewer blankets to sleep comfortably. Although our cover is breathable, it does create a light barrier that inhibits the complete absorption of body temperature into the TEMPUR® material. If decreasing the amount of covers used during sleep does not help, the mattress cover may also be removed, and a plain sheet may be placed directly over the TEMPUR® material.
